Lighthouse Baptist Church Camp is something very special to all who have experienced it. It’s not just a place you go to play games (although we play them), nor to eat food that you’ve not cooked (but we eat a lot of wonderful food), or even to just fellowship (and we have a lot of that too). But it’s a special place where we give a week of our lives to the Lord, so we can know Him, hear Him, and learn more of Him.
“And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of [every] seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles, When all Israel is come to appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing. Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that [is] within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law: And [that] their children, which have not known [any thing], may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.” - Deuteronomy 31:10-13
And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. [It shall be] a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month. Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths: That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I [am] the LORD your God. - Leviticus 23:41-43
The purpose of Camp is to
We come away together with the purpose and intent of meeting with God for Him and to do work in our lives, and it's amazing because He does.

The purpose of Camp is to
- Learn where you’re doing things you didn’t realize are wrong.
- Identify where you’re failing to do things you’re supposed to be doing.
- Change those behaviors so that you’re doing what’s right.
- Gain strength so we can live for God.
- Give the Word of God a chance to saturate our hearts and lives.
- Allow God’s Word to strengthen us and help us.
- Helps us to make decisions that will make a difference in the long term for our lives.
- Remember the things which we have heard
- Get the men and women and children to get their focus back on what's right.
- Allow those who haven’t heard to hear the things of the Lord, the testimonies of others, and the things that happened in the elders' lives
- See what camp has meant to others, so they can be encouraged and grow and follow in the faith.
- Encourage others to come to know God, too.
